SPEECHES
Speeches are an important part of every wedding.
They should be brief, sincere and to the point.
Have the speeches between the starter and the
main course. Guests who aren't starving and
have a drink in the hand make the most receptive
audience. Personal tidbits about the happy couple
are invaluable, but guests do not want to be
exposed to embarrassing detail. Keep it light.
A joke now and then is appropriate, keep it
clean.
THE
GROOM
Rule
no 1: He has to compliment
the bride. She feels the need to be publicly
acknowledged. Don't be shy; get in touch with
your feminine side and gush.
Rule
no 2: Make a note of everybody
involved in planning the wedding and thank everyone
personally, do not forget one name!
Rule no 3:
Thank the bride's parents for their daughter,
now is the time to make a good impression.
Rule
no 4: Thank your own parents.
They will be feeling neglected by now and they
need to know that they are still important.
Rule
no 5: Thank the guests for
the presents.
Rule
no 6:
Thank the bridal attendants and propose
a toast to them.
MASTER
OF CEREMONIES
It is important that the master of ceremonies
knows the guests, as he is the person to make
them feel at home. The master of ceremonies
sets the mood for the reception. He must have
a good sense of humor. He introduces the other
speakers. He proposes the first toast to the
bride Thanks everybody involved in the planning
of the wedding. He introduces the bride's father,
or old family friend, who then proposes a toast
to the bride and groom.
